Description:
SIDI shoes have long been known for their bedroom slipper-like comfort. The uppers on the Genius are a magic material known as Lorica, which feels soft and broken-in straight out of the box. We have yet to find a pair of shoes that feel as supple and as comfy as SIDIs made from Lorica.
The Genius 5.5 Carbon Composites get an upgrade in the new Carbon Composite sole, which takes the place of the old High-Tech Carbon sole. The Carbon Composite uses nylon, but its injected with carbon fiber to increase stiffness by 37%, increase durability, and reduce loss of rigidity over time.
Theres a new replaceable heel pad which snaps into place and uses a screw to keep it securely attached to the sole. The CC sole is also 3 mm thinner and has a touch more flex in the toe to alleviate blood flow and nerve problems. One final improvement is the inclusion of a fourth threaded hole for compatibility with the Look Memory Cleat.
One of our favorite features of 2009 model SIDIs is the new Ultra SL buckle. It retains the positive ratcheting security of the old version, so you will still enjoy on-the- bike adjustments and slip-proof fit. What takes the Ultra SL buckle to the next level is its ability to ratchet both ways at the touch of a lever, so you can micro-adjust your fit tighter or looser while in the saddle. Two more High Security Velcro instep straps stay where you put them to hold your foot solidly.
The original version of SIDIs Heel Security System prevents heel lift by locking your achilles in place. SIDI likes to point out the fact that when pro riders get to choose the brand of cycling shoes they use, more professional cyclists choose Sidi than all other brands combined. We can only agree with their choice.
