Our Nano Flex water-repellent fabric is one of those fabrics that seems miraculous. On a dry day it’s as warm and breathable as our normal Thermoflex fabric, but when it rains the water just runs off, thanks to the five-phase nanotechnology treatment. We’ve used an innovative construction that minimizes seams to keep you as dry as possible. While it’s not 100% waterproof, it’s the best solution we’ve ever tried for staying comfortable in any conditions.
The KISS Air seat pad features an anatomic shape to conform to your body and ultimately increase your comfort. A continuously variable thickness eliminates the odd sensation of “thick here, thin there” that you may have felt before with a dual-density pad.
Bibtight and knicker: GIRO3 grippers position the tight and seal around the shoecover, while on the knicker the grippers help the fabric stay put without binding. The mesh bib straps help transport moisture to the jersey and make sure the waist stays where it’s meant to be. Reflective Castelli print and reflective-tape zippers make you more visible in low-light conditions.

This is my 5th pair of castelli bib shorts, Since I purchased my first pair of free aero race bibs a few years ago I rarely wear any of my other brand bib shorts. These shorts are no exception. I am 5 ft 10 in 185 lbs (fairly lean at 12 % body fat) and the xl´s of each castelli bib short type fit like a glove. These bibs fill the gap when the weather is too hot for insulated bib tights and too cold for the free aero race or endurance x2s. The nanoflex does not have the highest end pad but I have not noticed any substantial difference. I have not worn them in heavy rain but they performed as advertised in light rain conditions.
Great shorts but pad a little hard

I have only ridden with the Castelli Nanoflex bibshorts 5 times, and only once in light rain, but so far I´m pleased. The product quality, like most Castelli products, is top notch, and, again like most Castelli products, the shorts run a little small. I am 172cm and 67kg and medium fits me in almost everything except Italian-designed goods. I went with the large and they fit perfectly. While riding in light rain, the rain beaded up nicely and there were no leaks. It wasn´t a tough test, but they seemed to repel water well. The leg bands are fairly thick, and so don´t fold over easily like some of the very thin, raw cut bands. The pad is very supportive and well-designed, but I felt it was a little hard. I´m accustomed to Rapha pads, which are usually somewhat softer and thicker. I haven´t had the shorts out on a ride over 100km, though, so the real testing is still to come. Overall, with my experience so far, I would buy them again.
