For years I have been using Crankbrothers pedals on both enduro and gravel bikes and I find them excellent. The cleats, being made of brass, are more delicate than their Shimano SPD counterparts but still last a long time as long as you don't walk for long on rocks when you are forced to push the bike. With this type the release is immediate and I honestly preferred those with 6 degrees of freedom.

This is a very friendly cleat made by crankbrothers. I started out using the stock ones that comes with the pedal which is the standard. But when I used this, it gave me much confidence as im new with cleats.
