Got this to pair with the Ergon BA 3L waist pack. Very impressed with it. No issues with water flow even with the recommended half-bag fill to go with the Ergon BA 3L. Fills easily, drains dry easily too.

The dimensions are square, more or less a span of an average hand per side, the ideal is clearly to use it with the vest that protects the back where it is embedded. Totally recommended.
