It works super well, I bought the boa to be able to use my bottles, I am so delighted with the system that I am going to buy a specific bottle, I can finally carry a bottle and take it out without problem in my Orbea rise. The Fox X shock does not let you use the conventional bottle cage

They don't send the universal base. but the one that is fixed with screws. They must take into account the space where they are going to put it

It is very convenient because it can hold PET bottles. In the case of a mountain bike, dirt, mud, etc. will adhere to the sinkhole, so a PET bottle protected by a cap is preferable to a bottle with a bare sinkhole. It has enough holding power and does not fall off so far.

It is both, it´s easy to use. no fiddling, just twist and it´s out putting back to the holder is even easier not twisting just aligning the 2 buttons and it attached magnecticall.

It is both but you need know before buyong that the base showed in the picture is not the one you´ll get. The one in the picture looks like a universal base with straps but the one I received is the bolt-on model.
