Garmin has launched the Varia RTL 510 Pack, a watch that alerts on possible emergencies and combines lighting technology. To determine the presence of hazards, this device has a range of detection over 140 meters, distance from which determines if it approaches an object. It can be properly adapted to Racing, Touring and Commuter bicycles.
With the issuance of a sound corresponding to an early warning, it works as a preventive measure. To enjoy more features you can pair with a radar screen unit or a Garmin Edge computer, using an ANT + sensor. Through a small symbology, it allows to show the position of the car and the approach speed of another device. The call is made through an emergency whistle.
60 lumens is the programming that has the backlight of this device. In terms of its execution range it is classified in 15 hours intermittently. As a solid alternative it works 6 hours and flash in night hours. Also, it provides lateral visibility of 220 degrees.

I used Garmin Varia Radar associated with the Garmin RDU screen in Bucharest for a distance of 48 km and performed excellently. As long as no vehicle comes from behind, the screen just shows a green dot up. When a vehicle travelling in the same direction appears in the back about 140 m, a beep is beeped, the green dot turns red and on the bottom of the screen a yellow dot appears that represents the vehicle and moves upwards showing that it is approaching. The radar is able to distinguish a maximum of 8 vehicles at the same time showing a yellow dot for each and which it tracks separately. He never lied. At an intersection there was very close a vehicle behind me and the yellow dot appeared very high indicating the presence of the vehicle very close. When we're out of vehicles in the back, we've got a one-point green screen up again. This device is very useful because a large part of serious accidents with cyclists happen when they are hit from behind by cars. Also, when we know we don't have vehicles in the back, we can use the entire lane of traffic. It's like seeing in the back, without the rear-view mirror and pedaling without worry because you often don't hear the vehicles coming, especially if the wind blows. In conclusion I am very pleased that I purchased this device.
