thats the big pay off for me vs cable style rim brakes, all my take-up adjustment is done from the lever I just up the hydraulic pressure a notch to get a firm squeeze ...and a perfect rim-to-pad gap adjustment.

Easy to mount on all existing Vbrakes. I put them on my wife's regular ladies bike myself. Work fine with good braking power.

I switched to Magura rim hydraulics after a terrifying experience of over-running the V-brakes on the tandem. The girlfriend and I were out for a Sunday ride and while riding down a long but not-very-steep hill, the brakes slowed, but wouldn't stop the tandem. There was a long run out at the bottom of the hill so it didn't end in disaster. But it could have. I considered replacing the fork for a disc but the manufacturer (cough, cough, lookin' at you, Cannondale) had put an odd, over-sized steer tube on the fork. The Magura HS 11 was the only reasonable alternative. Works better, but the next tandem will have discs front and back.

Hose length

That´s right, I had to have it as a front brake but I got the brake as the length of the rear brake. I then cut out a piece of the pipe. and then reattached again, but this only works if you have a needle driver. this is a device to press the pipe back onto the van.

No, the kit does not include oil and the parts necessary to shorten the cable

No. This is a set for the rear brake and in my case both brake pad mechanisms were worn out. For convenience, I left the rest (handle and line) in place.

HS11 are designed for installation on conventional touring and trekking bikes, mountain bikes with forks and frames that possess suitable mounting fixtures, not for gravel bicycles; for use with wheels that have rims with the corresponding brake track areas.

Yes, the handles can be placed on the left or right. The set is nicely complete and the operation is TOP

The handlebar can be installed on both the right and left sides (reversible). Before installing your brake divide which brake lever blade (right or left) you want to allocate to your front wheel or rear wheel brake.
