Great front tire. I've been through quite a few of these over the years, and keep coming back. Arguably the best all around front tire ever made.
Great

Exceptional rubber

Probably one of the best Maxxis tires, certainly the most popular. The front end becomes solid and controllable even on fast routes, regardless of the type of surface. A warranty.
Very good tires

Best Tires for mtb Riding

These are probably the most popular wheels for mountain biking either downhill or trail and for good reason. Maxxis makes amazing tyres, and the DHF is one of their best for grip. I would reccomend running a DHF as your front tyre. Do your research, the DHF and the DHR II are basically the same, (same side knobs) so it's all down to rider preference. No doubt, the DHF offers great traction. I ordered from this site because they were far cheaper even with paying shipping. Only drawback is it takes a while to get your parcel. But in the meantime, go shred your local trails while waiting. High rolling resistance is the only minor drawback of this tyre. So I reccoemnd running a slightly thinner tyre with better roll-speed in the back. Such as the maxxis Crossmark.
The gold standard in high traction tires
Tom Rolofson - 09/09/2018
In the loose and steep and rocky conditions found where I live in Colorado, nothing outperforms the Maxxis Minion DHF. These tires have phenomenal traction in wet and dry conditions. The only drawback is that all that traction means these tires also have significant rolling resistance. If you like staying in control of the bike when you're going fast, it's completely worth it. I like to run DHF's front and rear, because I find that the DHF hooks up more solidly than the DHR - especially when you lean it over. The downhill casing versions with the wire bead are almost indestructible, and the kevlar folding bead versions hold up really well considering how much lighter they are. Set up tubeless, I haven't had a flat with either version in a long time. Best tire ever.
