Alpha Neo AirX Jacket teams up the more advanced Polartec® fabrics in terms of protection (Polartec® NeoShell® breathable wind & water proof) and thermal insulation (Polartec® Alpha® warm and breathability at its best). Introducing the latest innovation in weather protection fabrics, Polartec® Neo Shell® . It is the first fabric to combine the superior breathabil ity and ventilation of a soft shell with the waterproof performance of a hard shell, delivering the best of both worlds: it features a proprietary, patented construction process creat ing a new hydrophobic, microporous membrane with a tightly controlled range of pore sizes. And It does all this at a fraction of the weight of current membrane technolo gies, so a garment made of Polartec® NeoShell® is lighter, softer and more supple than the competition. Dynamic Breathability: breathability refers to the ability of a fabric to allow movement of body moisture vapor through it; the process is called diffusion. Breathability can be increased by air movement through or around the fabric; that process is called convection. Both those features combined are measured and tested at the ASTM F2298 standard DMPC test (Dynamic Moisture Permeation Cell): Polartec® NeoShell® is 100% more breathable than the best waterproof breathable shells in the market.
