I had to replace a Dura Ace DI2, 11v shifter. Problem, there is no replacement for either Dura Ace or Ultegra. I've opted for the Shimano GRX RX815 Di2 (it has a shorter "leg" than the 817). Perfect functioning, easy to install and adjust and allows you to mount a 32-tooth chainring without operating problems. Fully compatible with Dura Ace 11v handlebars, I imagine also with Ultegra. The "policy" of Shimano, or the dealers or whoever, of not supplying spare parts seems to me to be ill-advised, possibly contrary to consumer rights and may seem like a monopolistic practice. If you have an 11v electronic equipment - personally I love how it works - and you have to change a certain component you have already drunk oil. Either you spend the money and switch to 12v or you will have a hard time finding spares. The GRX is a good alternative and economically reasonable solution to continue enjoying your 11v bike.

Excellent rear mech, specifically for 1 x set-ups. Use the 815 if you are going 2x. Usual Shimano quality. I had the cable actuated version previously, which worked fine, but did need regular checking and re-cabling every few thousand Km’s. This one shifts cleanly and precisely every time - I have it configured right lever down left lever up, plus hood buttons linked to head unit. The E-tube app has improved since the last update. Expensive, when you look at the cable prices particularly, but apart from that a joy to use!

Is this GRX 817 RD compatible with a 2x setup? You have two sizes but its not clear which, if either, is compatible with a front derailleur setup. Thanks.
