Good afternoon, it may not work because the gearbox and lever have a different cable pull. I would put a 10-speed SGS road gearbox on it.

Get the same quality. With a more favorable ratio on climbs, you just need to know if the derailleur can take a 42 cassette. There are multiple combinations of cassettes and pedals.
