I have used it with my 4 year old son a couple of times. It goes well uphill without a doubt, and on the flat as long as you are careful not to jerk and that the child knows how to brake. On moderate and short descents, and if the child knows how to brake, you can remain hooked, but in my case it became difficult and in the end it is better loose. It helps a lot to lengthen the route when the child is already tired but keep in mind that he has to continue handling his handlebars and therefore requires continuous concentration. It has the good part that you help him but it is not like a trailgator bar, where the child ignores when he is tied up. However, the rubber is more real because the child continues to control his bike even if he is tied. Also, the fanny pack is pretty cool, my son is motivated to wear it.

Yo lo he usado con mi hijo de 4 años un par de veces. Va bien cuesta arriba sin duda, y en llano siempre que vayas atento de no ir a tirones y que el niño sepa frenar. En bajadas moderadas y cortas, y si el niño sabe frenar, puedes seguir enganchado, pero en mi caso se hizo difícil y al final va mejor suelto. Ayuda mucho a alargar la ruta cuando el niño está ya cansado pero ten en cuenta que él tiene que seguir manejando su manillar y por tanto le exige concentración continua. Tiene la parte buena de que le ayudas pero no es como una barra trailgator, donde el niño se desentiende cuando va amarrado. Sin embargo, la goma es más real porque el niño sigue controlando su bici aunque vaya atado. Además la riñonera está bastante chula, a mi hijo le motiva llevarla puesta.

Firstly it really is a great product. How you use it is up to you and the capabilities of your 4 year old. If he can brake well enough, and understands how being attached affects the both of you, then sure you can ride anywhere. I have to say a lot depends on your comunnication as well. My son never likes me telling him how to do stuff. He likes to do it his way, even though we know it´s not the best way. In otherwords he personally doesn´t take instruction well. He also finds it a bit scary on the flat or downhill, as he is affraid of crashing into my wheel. So we usually detach when he can pedal himself. As i said above he has to be able to concentrate on your braking as well as his.
