Just as with all the Tannus tires, the Slick is made using patented puncture proof resin called Aither 1.1 that allows the Slick design to replicate the weight and resistance of a standard tire and be the only airless bicycle tire to weigh the same as the standard tire, tube, and rim strip combination adopted by many road riders. In addition to the minimal weight and resistance, the Slick repels the elements and provides a guaranteed 5000 miles of flat proof riding. The Slick even excels in wet conditions with increased grip and also offers no stretching in the heat.
- Without the worry for flats, the Slick can be used for commuting over pesky cobblestones in Roubaix and glass shards in New York back-alleys, rides for the real roadies on the splinter- ridden mountain roads of the Rockies and the gravel sprayed shoulders of roads across the world, or riding around the neighborhood to see a friend. No flats but wears quickly.

Hi, Installed this tire on the rear wheel of my single-speed commuter last summer. Installation was fairly straightforward. I found the ride was slightly slower than my previous tire/tube set up but not a deal-breaker. Traction was also comparable. I found this "hard" version a little rougher than the max. tire pressure than I am accustomed to. I did find that the tire wore down quickly and I didn't get 5,000 kilometres, let alone miles, out of it. In fact I probably got less than 4,000k.That is pretty disappointing considering the price. I am not a heavy rider, I don't skid and the roads here aren't that bad. I have contacted the manufacturer for a warranty claim. On the brighter side, no flats and I had to dig chunks of glass and other debris from the tire that would have caused a flat in a regular tire. I have purchased but have yet to install a replacement (regular hardness this time). Cheers!

I’m always seeing this commercial, but I didn’t see it in the bike shops for sale, I wanted to test it because every day I’m going to work on a bike with this option of not puncture it’s very good because it guarantees round trips because my prneu lasted the original 2 years with 10 thousand km
