Does the RDM900 derailleur replace a Shimano Sora?

Hi, a question: I have a gravel bike with an FSA 30/46 crankset and a Sunrace 9v 11/34 cassette. I changed the cassette with an 11/40 but the derailleur, although adjusted to the maximum, is not suitable for the 40. Could I replace the original Shimano Sora with a SunRace RDM900 derailleur so that I can use the 40? A thousand thanks

While the 9sp should work with a drop ,bar shifter I could never get this to work perfectly with my shimano shifter. More importantly this has a 41T total capacity and sounds like your set up would require a derailleur that can accept 45T.

Hi. Will it be compatible with a 10 speed shimano deore shifter and 10 speed sunrace 11/50t cassette with a 22/36t 2x crankset?

RDMS100 is 10 speed variant. Apparantly only useable for single speed in front. https://sunrace.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/RDMS100.MD-BOX.pdf I used this on a 9 speed 11-42 cassette with a single speed in front. Bàv!

Probably not. The max capacity of this RD is 40T. That is the difference between the front chainrings (36-22 = 14), plus the difference between the rear cassette (55-11 = 39). So 39+14 = 53, which is greater than 40. If you mounted this RD, you´ll have either too much loose chain in the small gears, or too tight of a chain to get into the big gears. You´ll have to either run a 1x in the front, or get a cassette with a smaller range.

It is compatible with your setup. It will go to a max of an 10-51 cassette, regardless of the front chainring setup.

Yes, Shimano 9 speed road and MTB shifters use the same pull ratio, so this will work great with your Sora shifters.
