The description states left hand lever for front rim brake. Assume if rim brake can run cable either right to front brake or left to front brake. Description would only be foe hydraulic option I assume

Correct, they are for mechanical brakes, you can use them however you want.

No, they are different systems. You can´t change laterality

Posable yes, advisable no. If you installed the rear derailleur shifter on the left side of the handlebars the thumb shifter would be on the outside and not under your left-hand thumb. Unlike Shimano and Sram the Campagnolo shifters use a thumb operated lever to shift the rear derailleur to a higher gear when you push it down with your right thumb and a separate finger operated shifter located behind the brake lever to shift the rear derailleur to a lower gear. For the front derailleur shifter mounted on the left side of the handlebars, the thumb shifter moves the front derailleur to a lower gear (smaller chain ring) and the finger shifter moves the front derailleur to a higher gear (bigger chain ring).
