Hello, This is Aldo from Oakland, California, USA A tubular tire is a tire where the tube is encased ( built into the tire casing and tread ) - that is designed as the mounting platform to glue the tire with a specific adhesive. This is a dedicated system. This tire cannot be used on a conventional clincher rim where a separate tire and tube are assembled, nor with a TLR Tubeless ready system where no tube is used similar to an auto or motorcycle rim tire assembly. nor vice versa. Benefits generally include lower rolling resistance, livelier more responsive handling charistics, lower weight, but especially if a flat is incurred at high speed the tire will remain glued to the rim and not peel off and away from the rim--thus safer. Down side: greater care of assembly learning the process of using this system, new / different rim set required (cost $ ) Many riders train on clinchers and race on tubulars. Also if one is interested in experiencing the ultimate sensation and performance in a wheel set, the tubalar system is as far as one can go. Todays mid-high end clincher technology is usually good enoungh for most. All the best!
