These worked perfectly to adapt my defender lock to fit my old 1996 Diamondback Outlook mountain bike. It took me 20 minutes in put it on using an Allen wrench, a flat head screwdriver & a pair of clippers to cut the overlap on each strap. I’m not technically inclined whatsoever but it couldn’t have been easier. If you’ve big or chubby fingers, it may be difficult to fit the straps over and under into the slits to so if someone with small hands can assist, that would be a plus. Make sure to double check that your tire rotates before tightening all the parts. And I wasn’t sure if I should leave a little overlap on the mount straps in case it should become loose, but I did and filed the corners down so they wouldn’t snag anything. The instructions aren’t great as they have 3-4 pictures and a few (and I mean, a few) words but it’s easy enough to figure out. If you need more instruction, there is a 42-sec video on YouTube that will pretty much give you an idea of what to do. Nowhere did the instructions on the mount or the defender lock itself mention that the covers over the screw holes pop out. It’s obvious they do but it would’ve been nice to have known how to do it. I was afraid I’d break the plastic but I used a screwdriver to put a little pressure under it and it came right off and later popped back in again. Overall, the experience of purchasing and using both the axa flex mount & bikeinn.com has been wonderful. This isn’t my first purchase from both and I’ll surely be buying from them again.
