At the Research & Design department of Continental in Korbach, Germany is a permanent search for the solution to an old problem: The rolling properties of the rubber of a bicycle tire are mainly determined by three different factors: grip, rolling resistance and service life.
The dilemma:
- Improving one characteristic often comes at the expense of another.
- A tire with a lot of grip wears out faster and rolls slower.
- But if the tire has to become faster, or has to last longer, this is at the expense of the grip.
- A very good compromise has already been reached with the current, highly advanced technology based on ´´silica gel´´.
- However, the engineers were not yet satisfied.
- They broke new ground and achieved a breakthrough in the composition of the mixture:
- BlackChili compound is the name of the material for the tread, based on the latest knowledge of natural materials and polymers.

So I ordered two of these and isn't had any defects, punctures, or any tire sort of a kind since the day I bought it. Shipping took about two weeks (pretty fast for an overseas order). I ride a Trek Marlin 4 and ride it just about every day for racing tours and bike reviews and that are new to getting in cycling (casual riding or racing doesn't matter). I would very much highly recommend this to anyone looking for anything related to not just tires but even other bike components. The tires are still in very good condition and that's how you know it's the real thing. High-quality everything from ordering.

Very satisfied with the covers. I use them as rollers on the rear wheel, the grip is very good and they seem to protect well against punctures. For this price you will not find something better.

I have not used them Tubeless but all information from Continental advises they are ´Tubeless Ready´.
