This jacket is efficiently waterproof and has a very tight fit and does not open up completely (must go over your head) Consider one size larger. Especially if you plan to wear warm clothes under it. There is no padding. Unfortunately, I had a rough landing and tore a few holes in the jacket shortly after I got it. However, it proved to be high quality as it held together quite nicely. It's pricey, but well worth the money.
