Ideal for 8-speed Shimano chains, and they are wider than Sram: 7.3 mm instead of 7.1.

Yes, they are for MTBs that have between 6 and 8 speeds on the rear cassette.

This listing is ambiguous: the photo and the description (“Missinglinl 7/8 7,3 Mm 40 Pcs/Box”) don’t match. I suggest you take the spec ("7.3mm Silver") on the size dropdown menu as the only reliable info here, and cross-reference this with KMC’s website. If you are considering a box of 40 missing links—is that 20 pairs or 40 pairs?—I trust you to know what chain(s) you want to use them on. In any event, 7.3mm is not too wide for 8-speed drive trains. But is it too narrow for 6/7 speed drive trains? I don’t know. Back when I ordered this, the price was too good to be true, and I received a single CL573R pair. BikeInn refunded that part of my order. The price now seems quite OK for 20 pairs and great if it’s 40 pairs.
