Mavic Thermo Bib Short

Received these bib shorts in 2 weeks which seems to be the standard delivery time for the US. Construction seems top notch and I really like the feel of the material. The stitching is nice and flat so minimal rub. The reflective strips help especially as I'm riding in lower light with winter coming. The fit is OK and I'm glad I did not follow the recommended sizing. I'm 6'1" and 214lbs (97KG) and the sizing chart recommended an XXL. I think it assumes a rider over 200lbs is fat which is not necessarily a good assumption. My waist is 35" and the XL fits pretty well. It's actually a little loose in the front which causes some rubbing on the guy parts. The chamois materials are good quality, however the shape of the foam is different from any other chamois I have used. The foam is one flat piece cut in the shape of a large saddle. The thickness of the foam (3/4") is the same throughout including under the perineum area which causes some unwanted pressure on longer rides. With my cutout saddle it's not as bad but on a flat saddle it could be an issue. Overall I like the product and I don't plan on doing any 100mile rides in these so for shorter distances in colder weather they are great.
