Thanks for the reply Brian and Ricardo, On this page, there are options for 8s, 9, 10, and 11 speeds for this cassette which is slightly different priced from the Miche Primato 8s(?). I would like to have some confirmation that it's going to work on a 25 year old bike with a campy 8sp derailler if I order this. thanks for any insight.

I don’t know about your bike, but the bike I fitted it to was also of that vintage, maybe closer to 30 years old. I can not guarantee it will fit your bike, but I had been on the lookout for one for a while. LBS stores did not seem to have parts for old bikes so I took a gamble. Replaced cassette, chain and brake hoods.

What's the difference between this and the Miche Primato campagnolo cassettes? Will they both function with an 8 speed Campy Veloce derailler?

Yes, this one will if installed on a Campy 8 speed hub.

This is a 9 speed cassette. I purchased it for a 9 speed Campy derailleur. The spacing may not work with an 8 speed derailleur.

This cassette is for 9 speeds. It will only work with 8 sprockets if you put a ring that fits but I don´t recommend it.
