700 X 35 or 700 X 40 What´s the difference

These numbers refer to the nominal diameter (700mm) and the width in millimeters (35mm and 40mm, respectively) of the tires. The primary difference is in their width, with the 700 x 40 being wider than the 700 x 35. This width affects the tire's contact with the ground, influencing traction, stability, and comfort. Wider tires, like the 700 x 40, offer more air volume, which can provide a smoother ride over rough terrain by better absorbing shocks and bumps. They can also offer better grip in off-road conditions due to a larger contact area. However, wider tires might also increase rolling resistance slightly and be heavier than narrower options, like the 700 x 35, which might be more agile and faster on smoother surfaces. I ride a 40 in the back and a 50 for more cushion in the front . Very good product!! Choosing between these sizes should consider the type of riding you intend to do, the surfaces you'll encounter most often, and the clearance on your bike frame and fork.
