It's a great wheel on a bike you wanna use every day. I put my 9s Sora on it and with the spacer, it fits perfectly (the spacer comes with the wheel). It runs very smoothly and it's the hub body isn't too quiet or too loud. I already have front wheel as well so they go very well together. Overall, no issues.

I gather this wheel is compatible with 9 speed cassette. Some advise a spacer is needed other say no, Which is it? Do I need a spacer and how is it installed if needed?

It is compatible with 9v but like everyone you have to put a separator (a washer or "washer") first before putting the cassette

According to Shimano´s website, this wheel works only with 9-speed (using a spacer) and 10-speed cassettes. I don´t believe it would fit an 11-speed cassette.

Yes. I put the wheel on my Shimano Sora 9v as well and it´s great. You will need a spacer though (it comes with the wheel).
