Shimano SD501M Shoes have been designed for the summer season when you need to feel fresher during your mountain biking practice, without leaving an optimal grip, rigidity, comfort, and durability in just a shoe.
These cycling shoes are made with a rubber outsole, that provides maximum resistance to wear, an EVA midsole for greater cushioning, and nylon reinforced with glass fiber to improve the grip and stability.
The upper has synthetic leather and includes a Velcro strap. These sandals for cycling incorporate SPG technology to increase the power of the pedal and the biker has the autonomy to choose the driving mode.

I'm like a kid with new shoes

I just received them and I am very satisfied, where I live it is very hot and my feet swelled with winter slippers. I have a 44 and a half and I bought the 45. I advise you that if you have other shimano cycling boots, take out the insole and you will see the measurement perfectly with that last. Keep in mind that Shimano shoes are somewhat narrow.

They look pretty good, in line with what I expected, but despite the fact that the size guide recommended a 47, and I bought a 46, they're a little big on me, so I'll change them for a smaller number. In any case, they are not for very wide foot lasts, the velcro straps are relatively short.

With a shoe size 41 in all Shimano cycling shoes that I already had so far, this 41 is not suitable at all. It fits in length, but I can't get the Velcro straps (bottom and top) neatly over each other. They overlap max 1 cm ( and less ). It seems that they are at least 4 cm too short. I may have a wide and high foot. Never experienced with Shimano. Seems completely wrong anatomy for European market to me. Next time, think 5 times before ordering from this webshop where you can only pay for returns.

Good foot support with the use of automatic pedals. Soft and comfortable material. I have wide feet and in the heat they dilate even more which causes me a lot of pain in the bunions as the day goes by. Socks are not necessary. I recommend them, they adapt to any foot width. My fingers are short and they are all more or less the same size, part of the sandal does not protrude from the front.

Other than Shimano, for some reason, no one makes sandals for cycling. At the same time, such cycling shoes seem to be relevant in the warm season, not only because they are not so hot in them, but also because it is much easier to dry and wash sandals than shoes. It is quite comfortable to ride and walk in them. This is not the first sandal model from Shimano, before that there were SH-SD66 and SH-SD500. In later versions, the manufacturer reduced the weight of the sandals. The sole here is strong and indestructible, but the top after a few thousand kilometers will begin to come off, but nothing lasts forever.
