Easy to use, no more dust attracting gunk on the drivetrain and after about 20 minutes of initial use the chain runs smooth and quiet. I would suggest looking at ZFC (Zero Friction Cycling) for some good guidance on waxing chains, and an excellent review of the top waxes. This was my first foray into chain waxing and my experience with Silca Secret Chain Wax has been excellent. I would advise not waxing the quick link and instead use Silca Super Secret liquid wax on the quick link pins. Waxing the quick link can make it difficult to connect.

I have spent years cleaning and oiling my chain but was always disappointed with the slimy mess that was left after a few miles of riding. Considered immersive waxing but was put off by the nerdiness. Eventually, after reading the excellent Zero friction cycling's website. I decided to take the plunge......Wish I'd done it sooner. After the initial clean the process was a doddle and the results have been fantastic. Super quiet chain and clean too. I use the drip wax every 150 miles or so and re-immerse after 5 times

I degreased my chain and initially used lubricating wax (also from Silca). I wasn't completely satisfied with the result and boiled the wax again and waxed it with the Secret Chain. I am very satisfied with the result!

After years of degreasing and cleaning chains and then applying dry lube and the chain and cassette getting dirty within 2 or 3 rides, chain waxing is just at a another level. Have only used Secret Chain wax and very pleased with the results. After watching Silca videos I am using a programme of Silca hot wax every 1000kms and Silca liquid wax every150km intervals, Still early days, but am very impressed by the results (quietness of the chain, cleanliness of the chain and cassette and the accuracy of the shifting)

No, after it´s over we don´t touch anything and it´s nice. After experience, I want to clarify this: 1-really don´t like water. It´s a shame it would have been faultless. 2-I noticed that 10 minutes in the wax is enough. This also allows the wax to drip off the chain without creating a large clump when it dries, which is difficult to remove afterwards.

No, you don´t need anything, but to do it again every 300km or each time if driving wet

So I have now switched all chains (approx. 10 pieces) to this wax and I have to say that it was the best change. I repeat the process every 1000km. To clean I only use water and compressed air to dry. I haven´t used any additives yet. And I´ve also done rides in the rain, then rinsed with clean water and dried. Ready

No, there is no need to additional lubrication.

Yes, after you have completed the process of waxing your chain you still need to apply the lub, but this only needs to be done every 600 km

No. Just wax and start riding. The bag should get you 40 waxes. I personally rewax after about 400km in dry weather but after 200km in wet conditions. I have 4 chains in rotation so when I start waxing I have chains to do me anywhere between 800km and 1,600km depending on weather conditions.

The chain shifts silently and smoothly, and remains spotless, just like the pawn! Rewax after 500 km! Hopefully longer lifespan of chain and pawn, to be continued...

You have to take your time first, then the chain will thank you!!! The chain must be absolutely free of oil and grease (bathe in brake cleaner until no more discoloration can be seen - I heated the wax in a water bath in the bag (just before cooking), inserted the chain and left it in for about 30 minutes, several times with a grill leather glove Bag rolled through so that the wax can penetrate into the rolls. Removed, allowed to cool and then made each link movable - takes a while but then works perfectly! Chain has now run about 600km off-road - runs quietly, smoothly and easily. No dirt sticks more to it, sprockets remain largely clean - well, terrain mud is thrown off. Any time again - I immediately made a new chain, so you can change it more quickly. When you wax it again, the effort is no longer as great. Simply great! - never get oil on it again Chain - front derailleur sprocket, cassette and drive stay clean!

Yes. It is possible to use the wax several times, I have waxed about 20 chains on as many occasions. If you make sure that the chains are clean before re-waxing them, the wax will work many times.
